We’ve done budget and flagship Chinese bikes, so what about something from the EMTB side of the discipline, with the Velduro Rogue?
While not a Chinese brand, Velduro was at the China Cycle Expo 2025, and they had a prototype version of the Velduro Rogue, a carbon EMTB running a DJI Avinox motor, which the New Zealand-based brand hopes to disrupt the market.

The bike seen in these photos and video is in fact a 3D printed prototype, which was hot off the printer, but I’ve been told that the first full carbon Velduro Rogue frames will be assembled by the end of May 2025 and we should begin seeing the first spy shots of the new enduro bike pretty soon.
There have been comments online that the Rogue is similar in design to the Trek Slash and Norco’s mid pivot bikes, which is quite the compliment for a new start up, however it’s hardly surprising they look so similar considering Velduro worked with the same suspension team at I Track in Australia to dial in the kinematic.

While we don’t have the specific tune for the Velduro Rogue, if it rides anything like Norco’s mid pivot bikes, it should feature an increased rearward axle path for improved suspension performance in terminal terrain, while the anti-squat should be tuned for efficiency and to remain responsive under power.
Speaking of which, the DJI Avinox motor fitted to the Velduro Rogue will support the latest 1000W DJI update, as well as provide up to 120nm of Torque, and thanks to the 800Wh internal battery, you’ll be able to make the most of all that power for most of the day too.

Speaking with Velduro, the 170mm/165mm Rogue will be available in 2 build options and even as a frameset only in certain markets. If sold in the UK, the frameset could retail for as little as £4000 with the DJI motor, battery and screen all pre-installed, allowing the rider to build the bike up just how they like.
Other interesting frame features include room for a 240mm dropper post, thanks to the straight seat tube design and a clip chip to run the bike either as a full 29er or a mullet without affecting the geometry.
4 frame sizes will be available from S-XL, with each bike sporting a seat tube angle of around 78 degrees (there are slight differences depending on the size of the bike) and a head angle of 63.5 degrees. Reach figures will measure from a roomy 440mm to an even roomier 515mm for the latest XL frame.
Final product bikes will feature a raw black finish with classy gold decals. Let me know what you think of the Velduro Rogue in the comments below, and keep an eye out for a video on the final bike, which I hope to see soon.
